 Detention Center - Inmate Information

Visitation Rules & Regulations

  • All family visits at the Center occur via a Video Visitation System. There are no in-person or contact visits.

  • Visitors must present a photo ID with date of birth, or two other documents verifying name, address and at least one showing date of birth. This ID must be presented to the Detention Officer when registering for the visit.

  • Visitors shall not be permitted to take purses, recording devices or other items into the visitation areas.

  • The use of tobacco products inside the building is prohibited.

  • All visitors are required to pass through or by a metal detector prior to entering the visitation area.

  • Visitors may be asked to submit to a "pat" search prior to entering the visitation area. You will not be permitted to visit if you refuse.

  • Visitors may not wander through or loiter in the visitation area.

  • Visitors are required to stay at their assigned booth during the visit. (Violations will result in termination of the visit and possibly future visits).

  • Anyone caught passing or attempting to pass anything to an inmate is subject to prosecution under SC CODE OF LAWS 24-7-155 Furnishing or possessing contraband in county or municipal prisons prohibited - Any person violating this section shall be guilty of a felony.

  • Inmates are required to complete a visitation card listing the persons they wish to visit. Five names can be listed on the card, but only three can visit each time. Visitors will not be approved if their name is not listed on the card. Children are included in the total number.

  • Visitors under the age of seventeen must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Visitors will not be permitted in to visit if they are wearing clothing deemed as inappropriate.

  • Shirts and shoes must be worn.

  • Additional guidelines may be imposed by the Director.

Other Visits

Visits may be scheduled at other times for immediate family members living out of town (more than 150 miles from the Center). Visitors will need to contact the Director or Deputy Director to obtain approval 48 hours prior to arrival.

Professional Visits

Attorneys will have access to their clients at reasonable times. Restrictions will apply in case of lockdowns for head counts, mealtimes and any emergency situation. An inmate cannot be seen during those times. The Center's meal schedule is as follows:

Breakfast 6:00am – 8:00am
Lunch 11:30am – 1:15pm
Dinner 5:30pm – 7:30pm

Visitation Schedules

Visits will be conducted Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday during various times. To better serve the visitor, please inform the visitation officer of the day and approximate time you would like to schedule a visit when calling.

Please call 915-6860 during the following hours to schedule a visit:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday between:
8:30am - 10:30am
2:00pm - 4:00pm

Visitors may schedule their visits up to 7 days in advance but no less than 24 hours of the requested visitation day.

Inmates are permitted two scheduled 30-minute visits per week.

All visitors must be listed on the inmate's visitation card in order to visit. If more than one visitor will be coming in a particular time slot only one visitor will be required to schedule the visit.
