GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
|
Under limited supervision, assists in the implementation of the Horry County NPDES permit through watershed based on planning efforts. Primary responsibilities will be to develop coalitions with stakeholder groups and build community support for stormwater projects and initiatives. Will serve as project administrator for watershed management studies and prepare reports and make public presentations.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
|
Analyze water quality, GIS data, and related information to prioritize watershed management opportunities. Manage consultants and other partners in performing watershed studies. Build stakeholder coalitions in order to implement selected watershed management goals. Keep abreast of the latest SCDHEC and EPA regulations and policies relating to TMDL’s and develop plans and policies to monitor compliance with these requirements. Conduct outreach activities for stakeholders and develop outreach materials on watershed-related topics. Conduct research and attend training sessions to keep up-to-date with latest development sin watershed-based research, stormwater technology, and management tools. Coordinate and track programs and activities as required by the County’s NPDES permit.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
|
Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, water resources or civil engineering and a minimum of three years of water resources or watershed planning experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
