Race Series

The Horry County Race Series began in 2018 as a single road race along the newly completed International Drive. Since that time, Horry County Parks and Recreation has grown this event from a single race into a fantastic six race series that includes running, kayaking, biking, paddle boarding and canoeing.

Participants will soak in the beautiful morning views of the Atlantic Ocean as they run along a course taking them between the Springmaid Pier and the Myrtle Beach State Park pier for a unique 5k experience.

This event is perfect for runners looking to set a new personal record in either the 5k or 10k as they race along a flat, fast stretch of International Drive. The children’s fun run makes this an excellent event for the entire family to participate in.

Battle for the Paddle Kayak, Canoe & Stand-Up Paddleboard Race

Participants will paddle down a picturesque section of the Waccamaw River in either a kayak, canoe or stand-up paddleboard. 5k and 10k options will be available, with both races ending at the Socastee Yacht Basin.

World Famous Blue Crab 5k at Vereen’s Gardens

A scenic 5k run through Vereen Memorial Gardens in Little River. Runners will begin on a section of the Historic Kings Road that was once traveled by George Washington, then traverse the trail system winding throughout the Gardens.

Don’t Fall Trail Classic

Runners will be challenged by elevation changes, twists, and turns during this trail race through the Horry County Bike and Run Park (The Hulk) with both 5k and 10k options.

This fun run style 5k takes place on our Panther Run trail in the heart of Carolina Forest. Participants can wear their Halloween costumes during the race in order to be entered into our costume contest. Following the race is a free trunk or treat open to all children!

Independent Republic Adventure Race

A team adventure race in which participants are given checkpoint coordinates to plot and navigate to via mountain bike, kayak, and foot. We are offering both a beginner race (3 hours) and an advanced race (10 hours).
