Alicia A. Richardson was born and raised in Aynor, South Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Clemson University cum laude with Senior Departmental Honors in 1992. She graduated cum laude in 1995 from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she was a member of the South Carolina Law Review and the Order of Wig and Robe. She was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1995.
Alicia began working with the Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office in 2001 after several years in private practice. Shortly after beginning with the Solicitor’s Office, she was promoted to Senior Solicitor of the Juvenile Court Division and served in that capacity from 2001 until 2012 where she transferred to General Sessions Division.
In 2009, Alicia received the Ernest F. Hollings Award for Excellence in State Prosecution for Family Court.
Alicia became the Deputy Solicitor in Georgetown County in 2013, where she continues to serve the citizens of the 15th Judicial Circuit.
