Scott Hixson is a 1990 graduate of The Ohio State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. He graduated from Capital University Law School Magna cum Laude in 2000. Scott was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2000 and the South Carolina Bar in 2001.
In 1998, Scott worked as a law clerk in the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office in Zanesville, Ohio and in 1999 as an Extern Clerk in the U.S. District Court, Southern District in Columbus, Ohio.
Scott came to the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office in 2001 as an Assistant Solicitor. He was promoted to Deputy Solicitor in 2009 and served in that capacity until 2013 when he became the Chief Deputy Solicitor for the circuit, which he continues today.
Scott is a faculty member of the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina and a guest lecturer at the South Carolina Commission on Prosecution Coordination. He also is a National District Attorney’s Association board member and associate director.
Scott resides in Horry County with his family.
