All Horry County Government offices, except Public Safety operations, will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving. Additionally, all County libraries, the Horry County Museum, and the L.W. Paul Living History Farm will be closed Saturday, November 28, 2020.

Join Horry County Parks and Recreation and the City of Myrtle Beach for the Grand Opening of the Splinter City Disc Golf Course on Wednesday, December 2 at 9 a.m. The course is located across from Warbird Park off Farrow Parkway. The address for the park is 3383 Splinter City Street, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 29577.
Memorial Dedication Planned for Victims of 1972 Military Aircraft Crash
The Horry County Council, along with the Horry County Historic Preservation Commission, will hold a memorial dedication on December 5, 2020, to honor the victims of the 1972 military aircraft crash that occurred over the Bayboro area of Horry County.
A ceremony will be held at Berea Baptist Church located at 4287 Joyner Swamp Road in Aynor, South Carolina beginning at 2 p.m. and will conclude with the unveiling of a memorial headstone and a historical roadside marker near the crash site. More details on the ceremony will be made available in the near future.

Horry County Government COVID19 Operations Update
Following the guidance from Governor McMaster and state agencies, Horry County will allow public access to its buildings with the best safety practices being implemented. Safety measures will include:
To help alleviate crowding in public areas, Horry County encourages individuals to continue to do business online and over the phone with county departments where possible. Horry County will continue to phase into operations as conditions permit, and ask for patience if wait times exist.
Anyone planning to visit a County building should be prepared to check in with staff located at the entrance to the facility. Visitors may be asked to wait outside the office or facility depending on the capacity of the facility.
County officials remind everyone to continue to follow CDC and S.C. DHEC safety guidelines as well as Governor McMaster’s executive orders that remain in effect.
Juror selection has resumed with precautions in place.
All local Magistrate Offices are open to the public for filings and court.
Central Traffic Court is open as well as is the Central Jury Court. Central Jury will only be receiving guilty pleas, so the public will not be required to serve jury duty.
Preliminary hearings resumed October 30, 2020.

The Socastee branch of the Horry County Memorial Library System will be closed Thursday, September 3, 2020, and Friday, Friday, September 4, 2020, weather permitting, for parking lot maintenance.
Library patrons are encouraged to visit one of the other branches located throughout Horry County. Locations, hours, and COVID19 limitations can be found on the Horry County Memorial Library System's website.

The Socastee branch of the Horry County Memorial Library System will close at 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2020, due to maintenance issues.
On July 6, 2020
The Conway Library is temporarily closed for precautionary safety measures. Curbside Pickup is still available at the Conway Library, call 843-915-7323 to make an appointment.
Other Horry County Libraries remain open, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
(July 14, 2020)-UPDATE: The Conway Library is now open. Curbside is still available by calling the library first.

The North Myrtle Beach branch of the Horry County Memorial Library System will be closed at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2020, for maintenance.
Patrons are encouraged to visit any one of the other branches of the Horry County Memorial Library System. Locations and hours can be found on the website.
