Keep Horry County Beautiful Litter Events

Conway, South Carolina – The Keep Horry County Beautiful Committee announces a volunteer opportunity for anyone interested in assisting with upcoming litter cleanups in our community.  Trash bags, gloves, safety vests, and trash grabbers will be provided.

  1. Saturday, March 4, 2017 – St. Joseph Road & Sandridge Road (Little River area)– 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Volunteers should meet at the St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church.  For more information, contact Lorraine Wilson at 843-997-3372. 
  2. Saturday, March 11, 2017 – Burgess Community Cleanup – 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Volunteers will meet at the South Strand Recreation Center on Scipio Lane.  For more information, contact Al Jordan at 843-215-1473.
  3. Saturday, March 25, 2017 – Port Drive – 9 a.m. The Harbour Towne HOA and volunteers will meet at the intersection of Port Drive and Malibu Lane.  For more information, contact Becky Warren at 843-293-6453.

  • Saturday, February 18 – Socastee Recreation Center– 10 a.m. Boy Scout Troop 853 in partnership with Keep Horry County Beautiful will hold a cleanup of the Socastee Recreation Center. Please meet at 10 a.m. at the Socastee Recreation Center located at 7485 Butler Road. 
  • Saturday, February 25, 2016 – Racepath Community Cleanup – 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Keep Horry County Beautiful will assist area residents to cleanup roadside litter. Volunteers should meet at the Racepath Community Center located at 1690 Racepath Street in Myrtle Beach. Contact Rev. Gause for more information: 843-283-3864.
  • Saturday, February 25 – Bucksport Road – 9 a.m. The Distinguished Men of Bucksport in partnership with Keep Horry County Beautiful will hold a cleanup of Bucksport Road in Bucksport. Please meet at 9 a.m. at the James R Frazier Community Center located at 1370 Bucksport Road.  Contact Alphonzo Sherman for more information: 843-340-5586. (PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DATE HAS CHANGED)

Conway, South Carolina – The Keep Horry County Beautiful Committee announces a volunteer opportunity for people or organizations interested in participating with upcoming litter cleanups and celebrations in our community.  Trash bags, gloves, safety vests, and trash grabbers will be provided.

May 13 – 15 –Carolina Forest Blvd, River Oaks Drive & International Drive – Join Beautify Carolina Forest Group at 8 a.m. at the Recreation Center located at 2254 Carolina Forest Blvd in Myrtle Beach.  Email Richard Skrip for more information.

Saturday, April 2, 2016Green Our Globe Fest-11 a.m. – 2 p.m.- Join Keep Horry County Beautiful as we raise awareness regarding recycling, waste reduction, and sustainability with the Horry County Solid Waste Authority (SWA).  The event will be held at the SWA’s administrative offices located at 1886 Hwy 90 in Conway.  Email Victoria Johnson for more information.

Saturday, April 2, 2016 Sanford D. Cox Park-South Strand Lions Club will clean up litter at the Sanford D. Cox Park in Garden City. Volunteers should meet at the park located on Elizabeth Drive in Garden City.  Email Maxine Montague for more information.

Friday, April 8, 2016Baby Animal Day – 10:00 a.m. Keep Horry County Beautiful will participate in Baby Animal Day at the Playcard Environmental Education Center located at 10729 Highway 19 West in Loris.  Email Ben Abercrombie for more information.

Saturday, April 16, 2016Market Common Great American Cleanup – 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Keep Horry County Beautiful will join the City of Myrtle Beach Planning Department at The Market Common Community Garden located at the corner of Pampas Drive & Myers Avenue to clean up the Market Common District. Saturday, April 16, 2016Earth Day @ The Bay – 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Keep Horry County Beautiful will participate in Ocean Bay Middle School’s annual Earth Day at The Bay event. This event is geared toward youth and helping them learn more about how to protect the environment. Come out to Ocean Bay Middle School for a fun day!

Sunday, April 17, 2016West Cox Ferry Road – 11 a.m. – until… - The Hammock Club of Coastal Carolina University in partnership with Keep Horry County Beautiful will cleanup West Cox Ferry Road.  The group will meet behind the Huddle House located at 3503 Hwy 544.  Contact Cyler Chiang for more information: (843) 521-0676.

Saturday, April 22, 2016Palmetto Pointe Boulevard - 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.- Keep Horry County Beautiful will assist with a cleanup of Palmetto Pointe Boulevard. Volunteers will meet at Palmetto Pointe Apartments on Carnegie Avenue in Myrtle Beach.  Safety vests, gloves, garbage bags, and trash grabbers will be available for the cleanup.  For further information, please email Amanda Warren. 

Saturday, April 23, 2016Enterprise Boat Landing Cleanup - 1 p.m.  The Winyah Sierra Club will be hosting a cleanup of the boat landing located at the end of Bay Road and Enterprise Road in Socastee.  Email Jane Oschenbein for more information.

Friday, March 11, 2016 – Carolina Forest Boulevard & River Oaks Drive – 8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. - Join the Beautify Carolina Forest group in partnership with Keep Horry County Beautiful for the cleanup of Carolina Forest Blvd and River Oaks Drive.  Volunteers will meet in the parking lot at Carolina Forest Recreation Center located at 2254 Carolina Forest Blvd in Myrtle Beach. Saturday, March 12, 2016– Burgess Community Cleanup- 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Join the Greater Burgess Community Association in partnership with Keep Horry County Beautiful, for a community cleanup. The event will begin at the South Strand Recreation Center located at 9650 Scipio Lane in Myrtle Beach. Volunteers will be transported to clean up litter along Holmestown Road and Scipio Lane.

Keep Horry County Beautiful Committee will meet on March 22, 2016, at 11:30 a.m.  at the Horry Government & Justice Center located at 1301 Second Avenue in Conway.
