Multiple Arrests Made in Prostitution Operation

 

Conway, South Carolina-Multiple arrests were made last night during a prostitution operation in the Myrtle Beach section of Horry County.   

 

On October 2, 2013, Detectives with the Horry County Police Department’s Narcotics and Vice Section initiated an investigation and operation into illegal prostitution utilizing a website known for that activity.  Deals for sexual acts were made in exchange for money and parties agreed to meet at predetermined locations in the Myrtle Beach section of Horry County.  As a result of the operation, a total of nine (9) arrests were made.   

Arrested:

  • Amanda Marie Ambler (26 YOA W/F) DOB: 04-18-87.  She resides in Yukon, Oklahoma.  She is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Charge: Prostitution   
  • Heather Jane Ann Shea Coleman (35 YOA W/F) DOB: 01-07-78.  She resides in the Longs section of Horry County.  She is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Charge: Prostitution   
  • William Cody Edmund (25 YOA W/M) DOB: 09-27-88.  He resides in the Myrtle Beach section of Horry County.  He is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Charge: Prostitution   
  • Tara Melissa Forsythe (31 YOA W/F) DOB: 02-17-82.  She resides in Ash, North Carolina.  She is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Charge: Prostitution   
  • Tiffany Marie Forsythe (31 YOA W/F) DOB: 02-17-82.  She resides in Ash, North Carolina.  She is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Charge: Prostitution   
  • Robert Wayne Glidewell (42 YOA W/M) DOB: 01-22-71.  He resides in Ash, North Carolina.  He is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Charge: Prostitution   
  • Marcus Hugh Hopkins (40 YOA W/M) DOB: 10-17-72.  He resides in Ash, North Carolina.  He is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Charge: Prostitution   
  • Amber Marie Mercure Muirhead (38 YOA W/F) DOB: 05-30-75.  She resides in the Myrtle Beach section of Horry County.  She is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Charge: Prostitution   
  • Ashley Melissa Long (26 YOA W/F) DOB: 04-23-87.  She resides in the Myrtle Beach section of Horry County.  She is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Charges: Prostitution, Simple Possession of Marijuana


River Oaks Drive & New Road Repairs

Conway, South Carolina —Horry County Public Works will be conducting road repairs on New Road (connector between Hwy 701 and Hwy 501) in Conway and River Oaks Drive in Myrtle Beach (in front of the River Oaks Golf Club) on Thursday, October 3 and Friday, October 4, 2013, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.  The roads will not be closed, however delays are possible and motorists are urged to find alternate routes.

Horry County Animal Care Center to Hold Vacccination Clinic

Conway, South Carolina – The Horry County Animal Care Center will hold a vaccination clinic, 29 October 2013, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the animal shelter located at 1923 Industrial Park Road in Conway.  The Clinic will offer the following services:    
          
  • Distemper/Parvo-$10--must be at least 8-weeks old(canine)               
  • Bordatella-$10--must be at least 8-weeks old(canine)               
  • Rabies-$10--must be at least 4-months old(canine & feline)               
  • Microchip-$15--must be at least 8-weeks old(canine & feline)               
  • Rhinotracheitis/Calici-$10--must be at least 8-weeks old(feline)     

Dogs and cats are both welcome; dogs must be on a hand-held leash and cats must be in a pet carrier.   

To help homeless animals in Horry County find loving homes, the Animal Care Center will offer discounted adoptions Friday, October 4, 2013, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday, October 5, 2013, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.  Potential adopters are encouraged to visit and spend time with the animal they are interested in.  Most of the animals are already spayed or neutered and have their shots up to date, however younger animals may need to be returned later to have shots and/or spay/neutering done.  The paperwork is easy and only takes a few minutes to fill out.  For this event, adoption fees will be discounted to just $40 for dogs (normally $80) and $25 (normally $50) for cats which includes spaying/neutering, vaccines including Rabies, heartworm or leukemia testing, heartworm and flea preventative, intestinal parasite treatment and micro-chipping.  Qualifying new pet parents also get 30-days free pet health insurance and coupons from local pet businesses.  To view the animals currently available for adoption or for more information on the monthly vaccination clinics, contact the Horry County Animal Care Center at 843-915-5172, follow us on Facebook, or visit our website.

Horry County Fire Rescue Seeks Community Feedback

Conway, South Carolina – Horry County Fire/Rescue strives to provide quality services to all citizens and visitors of Horry County and would like to receive feedback from the community regarding the services they provide and the manner in which they are provided.   A citizen’s survey has been added to the Horry County Fire/Rescue’s website

 which will allow citizens the opportunity to share their observations and experiences regarding any recent services that was provided by Horry County Fire/Rescue.
