Horry County is now accepting applications for infrastructure projects to be funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). In addition, Horry County is now accepting applications for public service projects to be funded through Community Development Block Grant COVID-19 (CDBG-CV) and/or American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. Previous recipients of Horry County ARPA or CDBG funding are not eligible to apply in this round.

Request for Proposals: American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), Infrastructure Application
Application Due: Friday, July 29 at 5 p.m.
This ARPA funding round will focus on infrastructure projects. Infrastructure projects funded through this program should primarily benefit residents of unincorporated Horry County. The maximum award under the Infrastructure category will be $500,000. Previous recipients of Horry County ARPA funding are not eligible to apply in this round.
Organizations considering submitting a proposal in response to the Infrastructure solicitation should direct questions to arpa@horrycounty.org.
All questions are due July 1, 2022 by 5 p.m.
Horry County has received $68.8 Million in ARPA funds, of which up to approximately $2 Million will be made available to agencies for eligible or infrastructure projects from the County’s second appropriation of ARPA funding in this round. ARP funds are authorized under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
Request for Proposals: Community Development Block Grant COVID-19 (CDBG-CV) Public Service Proposal Application
Application Due: Friday, July 29, 2022 at 5 p.m.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has allocated supplemental Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV) Program funds to Horry County to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Approximately, $130,000 is available for funding of proposals in this round of applications.
CDBG-CV funds will be made available for public service projects that prevent, prepare for, or respond to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). Previous recipients of Horry County ARPA or CDBG-CV funding are not eligible to apply in this round.
The County will host a meeting on Tuesday, June 28 at 10 a.m. via WebEx, to address requirements and respond to questions regarding the Public Services application.
Instructions for joining the WebEx session will be posted to https://www.horrycounty.org/Departments/CDBG/ARPA.

THE HORRY COUNTY REGISTRATION & ELECTIONS OFFICE WILL BE CONDUCTING A HAND COUNT AUDIT ON A PRECINCT TO BE DETERMINED BY THE STATE ELECTION COMMISSION. THIS AUDIT WILL BE CONDUCTED AT 9:00 AM ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15TH AT THE ELECTIONS OFFICE LOCATED AT 1515 4TH AVE.

The Horry County Voters Registration and Elections Office wants to share some important reminders with our voters ahead of election day tomorrow.

As a reminder, the County is no longer able to share election results on our website. You must visit scVOTES.gov on election night to find election results.
Media note: Members of the press are encouraged to be in-person at the Voters Registration and Elections Office. There will be members of the Election Commission on-site at that office that can help answer questions and facilitate media requests on election day. Media members are also allowed to visit the polls, but we ask that you be respectful of our voters and you must follow any directions provided by the poll workers on-site. As in recent years, with the new website requirements, the County will not be opening the multi-purpose rooms on election night.

Early voting is now open in Horry County for the upcoming June 14 Primaries.
Following a recent change in state legislation, in-person absentee voting has now been replaced with a two-week early voting period. Any voter can visit an early-voting location in their county and vote like they would at their polling place on Election Day.

Project Update: Augusta Plantation Interchange
Join Horry County Councilmember Bill Howard and other local officials on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 10 a.m. on-site at the end of Revolutionary War Way to receive an initial project update on the Augusta Plantation Interchange.
The event will be held at the end of the unpaved portion of Revolutionary War Way, outlined below on the map in the yellow square. There is no access to this area from Highway 31. Parking will be available near the paved portion of Revolutionary War Way, with golf cart shuttle service available. The parking area is indicated on the map as a blue circle. Please note, there are no restroom facilities available on-site, but attendees are welcome to use the facilities at Carolina Forest Recreation Center.
Media note: Members of the press will be able to drive their vehicles to the end of the drive for the event. Alternatively, the shuttle service will be available.
Upcoming Road Closures & Construction Updates
Motorists in all road construction areas should use caution, stay alert for crews working in the area, and pay attention to all signs and traffic control devices.
Project Update: Postal Way Extension
Drivers should be alert that on May 31, 2022 the intersection of Postal Way and Oakheart Road will no longer be a four-way stop. Postal Way will have the right of way and Oakheart Road will become a complete stop at the intersection. Please drive cautiously in this area and pay attention to road signs.
Weather permitting, intermittent evening and overnight lane closures are possible at the intersection of Postal Way and Carolina Forest Boulevard near the United States Post Office.
These closures will continue through the remainder of the Postal Way Extension road construction project. The project is a part of the RIDE III Program US Highway 501 Corridor Improvements. The project includes the extension of Postal Way east to Waccamaw Pines Drive with the installation of required intersection improvements and sidewalks.

Partial Road Closure on Industrial Park Road
A portion of Industrial Park Road in Conway, between Harris Shortcut Road and the curved section of Industrial Park Road in front of the Horry County Animal Care Center, will be closed to all traffic except construction traffic.
