The funding is provided through a federal block grant program to assist in developing a viable urban community by expanding opportunities for decent housing, suitable living environments and needed public services. The projects must provide a benefit for low- to-moderate income citizens and/or address areas of slum/blight. The County CDBG office does not make grants directly to individuals or families, but instead funds non- profit and governmental agencies which carry out projects in the local area. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
To assist with the applications, the Horry County CDBG Office will hold three classes at the CDBG/Voters Registration and Election Complex located at 1515 Fourth Avenue, Conway. They are scheduled as follows:

There will be a public meeting on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. at the Community Development Office to receive further public input regarding 2012-2013 CAPER. Written comments may be addressed to Diana Seydlorsky at the Horry County Community Development Office or may be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. All comments must be received by 5 p.m. on September 5, 2013.
Copies of the report are available for review at the Horry County Community Development Office, 1515 Fourth Avenue, Conway, SC 29526, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. from August 22, 2013 through September 6, 2013, 2013. The report is also available from the County’s website.
Horry County will furnish reasonable auxiliary aids and services to individuals with limited English proficiency or disabilities upon 24-hour notice.
