Conway, South Carolina – Recommendations will be made to County Administrator Chris Eldridge by the Evaluation Committee regarding Request for Proposals (RFP) #2013-14-090 Ambulance Transport Billing Services for Horry County. The recommendation will be made on Monday, March 16, at 9:00 a.m. in the Administrator’s Conference Room at the Horry County Government and Justice Center, 1301 Second Avenue in Conway.

Conway, South Carolina – Horry County, along with Georgetown County and the City of North Myrtle Beach, are now live with PremierOne™ CAD and records management.
PremierOne™ CAD is the next generation incident and resource management system that’s transforming public safety and dispatch operations. It streamlines the capture, correlation and real-time distribution of mission critical information for improved dispatch decision making and increased responder awareness and safety. It allows dispatchers to handle calls faster, allocate resources more efficiently and coordinate seamlessly with other departments and agencies. “Public safety operations depend on immediate access to the best information available, and PremierOne CAD will effectively serve our community, protect life and preserve property,” stated Toni Bessent, Director of Horry County E911.
Horry County upgraded to this Motorola package from its 2006 version. The old CAD version ran continuous 24 hours a day, seven days a week for 78,400 hours. “We are so pleased with the new system and thank Horry County IT, Horry County Police and Horry County E911 for their diligence and long hours to make this transition seamless,” said Ms. Bessent. “The IT Departments and Dispatch Centers in North Myrtle Beach and Georgetown County worked equally hard to ensure their success with the new system”, she added.

Horry County Council, in conjunction with Keep Horry County Beautiful and numerous partners, hosted a countywide, volunteer litter cleanup event on Saturday, November 8, 2014. The event featured 12-locations around the county where approximately 700 volunteers came out and picked up 1,056 bags of litter. The number of bags of litter collected by County Council district are as follows:
Participating agencies and partners for the event include Keep Horry County Beautiful, PalmettoPride, Coastal Carolina University, Horry County Schools, Carolina Forest Civic Association, Greater Burgess Community Association, Chicora Indian Tribe, Horry County Solid Waste Authority, Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors, Coast RTA, Myrtle Beach Speedway, Chick-Fil-A, the Jamestown Chefs, Cool Hand, and many more.
Keep Horry County Beautiful also recognized the following groups and individuals for achievement in efforts to reduce litter and beautify our county. The Community Cleanup and Beautification Awards for 2014 were:

The Horry County Board of Architectural Review is sponsoring the third annual High School Video Contest. The objective of the contest is for Horry County high school students to create local history related videos, telling the story of a building or a site within Horry County that is at least 50 years old and increasing their awareness of local history. The contest is open to all Horry County high school students as well as students in a homeschooling program that are residents of Horry County. The first place video submitter will receive $250, with prizes for second and third place as well.
