Horry County Purchases Land for Central Coast Complex

Horry County Government officials finalized the purchase of the property for the future Central Coast Complex and the transaction closed today. The property is located on Hinson Drive behind McLeod Regional Medical Center off of International Drive in the Carolina Forest area (PIN #39612030015).

In September of this year, County Council approved third reading for the bond issuance that included funding for the Central Coast Complex. The project is expected to go out for bids in the middle of next year and after that process is complete, the County will have a projected construction timeline.

The purchase of the property cost approximately $2 million and the total project cost is currently estimated at $25 million. The new facility will include office space for a variety of county functions, including a fifth police precinct.

Upcoming Change to Transaction Fees for Tax Payments

Beginning Saturday, November 20, 2021 all card transactions, credit and debit, processed through our website will be assessed a 2.35% fee. Previously, the online fee for debit cards was a flat fee of $3.95. For payments made in person at the office, credit card transactions will incur the 2.35% fee and pin debit transactions will incur the $3.95 fee. The County does not receive any revenues from these transactional fees, they are paid directly to the processor and cover the transactional fee assessed by the processor. The County does not set or determine these rates.

We encourage anyone doing business with us online to take advantage of the free e-check transaction online. The e-check payment process uses the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system to transfer money electronically, requiring customers to use the routing and account numbers from their financial institution to make a payment.

Taxpayers can make an online payment by visiting horrycounty.org/Online-Services/Tax-Payments. Customers with questions about their tax bill can call the Treasurer’s Office at (843) 915-5470.
