Florence Flooding Update: Aerial & Truck Spraying Schedules

Weather permitting, Horry County will be conducting the following mosquito spraying: 

Aerial spraying(begins approximately 30-minutes prior to sunset):

  • Thursday, September 27-Hwy 430, Hwy 76 & Alma Road areas. (Alternate flight date is 10/1)
  • Friday, September 28-Calvary Chruch Road, Bedford Road & Little Mille Road areas. (Alternate flight date is 10/2)

Truck spraying:

  • Thursday, September 27 beginning at 6:30 p.m.-Hwy 111, Hwy 50 & Hwy 90 areas.
  • Additional truck spraying will occur Friday, September 28, Saturday, September 29 & Sunday, September 30 in areas to be determined.

The chemicals used for mosquito control spraying are approved by the EPA and pose minimal risk to humans or animals.  Individuals with asthma or other respiratory illness may wish to stay indoors and close windows and doors during spraying.  In addition, homegrown fruits and vegetables should be washed, scrubbed, and/or peeled before eating. 

To help keep our honeybee population safe, beekeepers are urged to contact Horry County Stormwater to identify the location of their colonies.
