Horry County Councilmembers Harold Worley and Bill Howard are pleased to announce the reopening of the Lake Arrowhead Solid Waste and Recycling Center with expanded hours and services. These Councilmembers led the initiative to restore the center, working together with staff members from Horry County and the Solid Waste Authority to implement the project.
Following a several years-long closure, the center will begin to accept waste and recyclables on Friday, May 13, 2022 and will officially reopen on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. The Center will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Horry County Councilmember Bill Howard said, “As our County continues to grow, we have to expand and improve the services we offer to our residents. I’m proud of the work we have done to restore this center and to ensure that the residents in this area have convenient access to solid waste and recycling facilities.”
Councilmember Harold Worley said, “This was a team effort and I want to thank the staff from Horry County Government and the Solid Waste Authority for their work on this project.”
