Horry County Mosquito Control will conduct aerial mosquito spraying in the Little River area on Thursday, September 1st weather permitting. Aerial spraying will be conducted one hour prior to sunset and one hour after sunset.
Spraying will occur in these areas:
Mt. Zion Rd
Old Sanders Dr
Tangle Oak Dr
In the event of inclement weather, the makeup date will be Friday, September 2nd.
The chemicals used for mosquito control spraying are approved by the EPA and pose minimal risk to humans or animals. Individuals with asthma or other respiratory illness may wish to stay indoors and close windows and doors during spraying. In addition, homegrown fruits and vegetables should be washed, scrubbed, and/or peeled before eating.
To help keep our honeybee population safe, beekeepers are urged to contact Horry County Stormwater to identify the location of their colonies. You can submit the location of your hive online here.
In addition, citizens who need to request spraying in the unincorporated areas of Horry County (outside city limits) can contact the Horry County Road & Drainage Hotline at 843-381-8000 or by the online form found on our website.
