FEMA to Open Disaster Recovery Centers

Conway, South Carolina – President Barack Obama has issued a Presidential Disaster Declaration for Horry County, which gives Horry County’s governments and citizens crucial access to federal assistance and assets.  As part of that assistance, the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be opening Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) in the following locations:

  • North Strand Recreation Center, 120 Highway 57 South, Little River
  • South Strand Recreation Center, 9650 Scipio Lane, Myrtle Beach

These DRCs will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. and will be staffed by personnel able to assist Horry County citizens with: answers to questions, referrals to agencies that may be able to provide further assistance, crisis counseling, disaster related legal services, disaster related unemployment and other valuable services.
