Public news and announcements are brought to you by the Horry County Public Information Office.
Conway, South Carolina-As a recipient of US Department of Housing grant funding, Horry County is required to notify the public of substantial amendments of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The following budget amendments will allow for the redevelopment of target neighborhoods. The amendments support the goals to further affordable housing opportunities for low income families within the County as well as focus on targeted redevelopment efforts within the Racepath Community, a targeted investment zone. Other priority revitalization areas include the Bennett Loop and Bucksport communities.
The chart below indicates the areas that require a substantial amendment. A substantial amendment is required when 50% of the project beneficiaries change, 50% of the budget changes, or a new activity is identified for that program year. Horry County Rehabilitation projects, Neighborhood Acquisition, and Neighborhood Park Improvements are all considered new activities regarding the amendment.
The public has until June 3, 2017, to provide written comments regarding any substantial change to the Annual Action Plan. The Action Plans and amendments are available at the Department of Community Development, 1515 Fourth Avenue, Conway, SC 29526. Written comments may be submitted to Wiestner.Carol@horrycounty.org.
