Conway, South Carolina-Interim Horry County Department of Airports Director Scott Van Moppes has been named the new Airport Director.
Horry County Administrator Chris Eldridge stated, "I am proud to promote Scott to Director of the Horry County Department of Airports. Scott is an example of hard work, dedication and striving to do the things necessary to move up in levels of responsibility. He brings 12 years of airport experience, an intimate knowledge of airport systems, and a desire to see the county’s airports continue to grow and improve."
Van Moppes, A.A.E. began his career with Horry County Government in the Horry County Information Technologies Office in January of 2003 and transferred to the Myrtle Beach International Airport in 2004 as the Airport Technology Manager to design systems for the upcoming terminal.
