Two County Boat Landings to Temporarily Close for Maintenance

Horry County will temporarily close two area boat landings for parking lot maintenance this week. The following boat landings will be closed until noon on the day of their scheduled maintenance the Danny Knight Boat Landing will be closed Wednesday, March 31, 2021, and the Chris Anderson Boat Landing will be closed Thursday, April 1, 2021. Boaters are encouraged to visit one of the many other boat landings throughout Horry County which are listed on the website.

Boat Landing Closures

Due to high water levels along our waterways, some County boat landings have been closed. They will remain closed until water levels recede enough to reopen. The following landings are currently closed:

Peachtree Landing
Socastee Yacht Basin
Rosewood Landing
Chris Anderson Landing
Old Reaves Ferry Landing
Danny Knight
Pitts Landing
Punch Bowl Landing
Yauhannah Landing

Enterprise Boat Landing to Close for Parking Lot Paving

The Enterprise Boat Landing located at 7999 Bay Road in Myrtle Beach will close for 30-days (weather permitting) beginning December 2, 2019, to allow for parking lot paving operations. A list of Horry County Parks & Recreation's other boat landings can be found on the website.

Surveillance Cameras to be Installaed at Several Public Boat Landings

Conway, South Carolina – Horry County has received state grant funds from Representative Kevin Hardee (House Seat 105) and Heather Ammons-Crawford (House Seat 68) to install surveillance cameras at six local public boat landings. The boat landings include Chris Anderson Landing, Red Bluff Landing, Hwy. 22/17 Interchange Landing, Reeves Ferry Landing, Enterprise Landing and Peachtree Landing.

“Adding the cameras at the boat landings will help deter criminal activity and protect the property and lives of our citizens and visitors,” stated Representative Kevin Hardee. “We hope more funding will become available and allocated to additional boat landings in our county,” said Representative Ammons-Crawford.

The surveillance cameras will be monitored solely by the Horry County Police Department to assist with investigations of potential criminal activity like auto theft and illegal dumping. As funding becomes available, Horry County will add additional surveillance cameras to other public facilities like the Horry County Animal Care Center, recreation centers, etc

Pitts Landing Road, Punch Bowl Landing Road & Yauhannah Boat Landing Closed

Conway, South Carolina —Horry County Public Works has closed Pitts Landing Road and Punch Bowl Landing Road, both in the South Conway area of Horry County, until further notice due to flooding. In addition, the Yauhannah Boat Landing, located off Highway 701 in the South Conway area of Horry County is also closed due to flooding.
