Meeting Advisory: House Opioid Study Committee to Hold Public Hearing in Conway Will receive testimony from invited speakers and welcomes public participation WHO: The House Opioid Abuse Prevention Study Committee is tasked with developing recommendations identifying preventive measures and increasing treatment and recovery options to better protect South Carolinians from opioid abuse. WHAT: The House Opioid Abuse Prevention Study Committee will hold a public hearing in Conway, SC, to hear public testimony regarding personal experiences and the impact of the opioid epidemic. After the invited guests have concluded, members of the public will also be given the opportunity to address the Study Committee (see additional information).* WHEN: Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM WHERE: Horry County Government & Justice Center, Council Chambers, 1301 Second Avenue, Conway, SC 29526 Upon entrance through the atrium, participants should go left into the Administration Wing of the building and Council Chambers is located on the second floor at the top of the stairs. *ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Members of the public who wish to provide testimony are welcome to attend and sign in upon arrival. If the two hour time limit expires before an individual has the opportunity to give his/her remarks, written testimony can be submitted for review via email. The House Opioid Abuse Prevention Study Committee has provided a framework for testimony that can be found here.
