Conway, South Carolina – Horry County Planning & Zoning, Parks & Recreation, and the Parks & Open Space Board will be hosting public meetings to present a draft of the Horry County Parks and Open Space Plan. The plan provides recommendations for recreation facilities and open space preservation in the unincorporated areas of Horry County. Many people and organizations have been involved in the development of this plan, and the County is seeking additional public input prior to finalizing the plan. Public meetings will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on:
A draft of the plan can be found on the Horry County Parks and Open Space Board webpage. Printed copies of the plan are also available at the Horry County Planning & Zoning Office, CB Berry Community Center, North Strand Recreation Center, Carolina Forest Recreation Center, South Strand Recreation Center, and James Frazier Community Center. Citizens are also invited to send comments directly to Leigh Kane.
After comments are received, the Horry County Parks & Open Space Board will incorporate them into a revision and make a recommendation to the Horry County Planning Commission and the Horry County Council to consider adoption of the plan.

Conway, South Carolina – Horry County will host three Memorial Day Bikefest Business/Community Meetings. The meeting dates are as follows:

The meetings are intended for those community members that may live or have businesses near the 23-mile extended traffic loop, which will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 22-25. Local government agencies will give a briefing on local plans to include traffic management, increased police presence and enforcement of laws, business responsibility, and location of information. The meetings are open to the public.
