The 5k-race, which is planned by Coastal Carolina University students, is set in a zombie apocalyptic world on the Day of the Dead. Runners will race through a challenging woodland trail trying to “survive” by avoiding zombies and making it to the finish line with their lives. Their lives will be represented by a flag football belt that they will run with and the zombie will try to snatch.
The first 100 participants to register will be provided with a t-shirt and a medal. Prizes will be provided to the top three male and three female finishers who finish with their belts and also the top three male and females finisher who finish as undead. In addition to the race an after-party will be held at Murphy’s Law in Carolina Forest immediately after the race. Soft drinks and boneless wings will be provided.
