Splash Pad at James R. Frazier Community Center Ribbon Cutting

Conway, South Carolina—Horry County Government will host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Splash Pad at the James R. Frazier Community Center on Wednesday, June 6 at 2:00 p.m.

Join Horry County Councilman Harold Phillips and Horry County Council Chairman Mark Lazarus along with members of the Parks and Open Space Board, Keep Horry County Beautiful, and Parks and Recreation to recognize the opening of the new Splash Pad at the James R. Frazier Community Center.

The Splash Pad is part of a larger beautification project at the James R. Frazier Community Center which will include the Splash Pad and a Born Learning Trail. The splash pad is a 707 square foot wet play area for children adding another amenity for families at a beloved community center.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place at the James R. Frazier Community Center located at 1370 Bucksport Road in Bucksport, South Carolina.

Yauhanna Boat Landing Reopens

Conway, South Carolina-The Yauhannah Boat Landing at the US Hwy 701 Bridge Replacement Project has been reopened for recreational use. For more information on the many parks and boat landings, Horry County has to offer, visit the Horry County Government website.

C.B. Berry Community & Historical Center to Change Hours

Conway, South Carolina – Effective February 1, 2018, the C.B. Berry Community & Historical Center will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The center will close from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. each day for lunch.

Please note that the facility is available after hours for rentals. For information, contact the C.B. Berry Community & Historical Center at (843) 249-4157.

Horry County Boat Landing Gets New Floating Dock

Conway, South Carolina –The Horry County Delegation provided $125,000 in Water Recreational Funds for a 100-foot long new floating dock at Lee’s Landing located at 485 River Road in Conway.  The Water Recreational Funds are part of the tax collected for water recreation through gasoline taxes in South Carolina.

Construction on the dock began in May 2017, by Sweatman Dock Builders from Harleyville, South Carolina and was completed in late June 2017.

Loris Nature Park To Be Closed for Maintenance

Conway, South Carolina – Horry County Parks & Recreation will close the Loris Nature Park located at 300 Loris Lions Road in Loris for routine maintenance Monday, May 15, 2017, through Friday, May 19, 2017.

Patrons are encouraged to visit one of Horry County’s other 32 parks located throughout the county.  Park names, locations, and other information can be found on our website.
