Property Assessment Notices to be Mailed
- This week, the Horry County Assessor's Office will mail approximately 25,000 assessment notices to property owners who have transferred property ownership in 2007, based on a state law that was passed last year requiring the county to re-appraise those properties. This state law has been referred to as Assessable Transfer of Interest (ATI) and Point of Sale. This new appraised value, also referred to as the fair market value, will be shown on the assessment notices and will be the basis for calculating the property taxes that will be billed in October . . . more

Lewis Family's Cemetery Ceremony
